Twitnovation, Twitnovando… Measuring innovation with Twitter

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Economy Network of Latin America and the Caribbean (RIE) aims to promote the study, dissemination, and training on innovation and entrepreneurship issues in the region.

I am joining the magnificent economists Philippe Aghion and Reinhilde Veugelers, and presenting tomorrow at the 6th iteration of the regional conference.

I will be presenting joint work with Ralf Martin (Imperial College London), and Eugenie Dugoua (LSE), on Twitnovation, a measure we created to estimate innovation and intangible investments from social media posts by and about companies.

This project started with applications for the UK and the US, with the collaboration of Charlotte Guillard (UK Intellectual Property Office), and now we are applying our novel measure to Latin American countries in collaboration with the Inter-American Development Bank, and the Spanish version Twittamos
